I Need Anatomy Lessons

This is a sketch of a dress I'm planning on making in the (hopefully) near future. But oh my goodness the poor lady's head is hanging by a thread! I didn't notice how long it was until I was finished and then I was terribly disappointed. Oh well, I'm getting better every sketch I do.

My New Favourite Books

I drew this because I recently bought 7 of the Penguin Classics cloth-bound series with covers designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. Possibly my favourite character in any novel is St John Rivers from Jane Eyre, and this is what I imagine he would look like. I know, I'm practically a squealing teenager. Nonetheless, check out the books. They are beautiful.

I Actually Like Sewing or I Actually Like Sewing When I Don't Stuff Up

I feel like I am getting better at sewing every day. That's the most labour-intensive part of the whole business. I am good at sewing but but I'm much more interested in the design aspect of making clothes, to me (and probably most other people) it's much more fun. But there's a huge satisfaction in looking at a finished item and thinking 'I made that, and I'm really proud of it.' It's just a huge buzz, and I don't get that feeling anywhere else. I'm a freak, I know. :)
